John Labatt Centre

From sporting events and concert presentations to theatrical shows and multi-day trade conventions – you’ll find it all inside London’s John Labatt Centre. The John Labatt Centre (or JLC as we locals call it) is the largest sports and entertainment centre in southwestern Ontario, providing visitors with access to an endless number of national and international events. The centre has only been a part of the London community since 2002, but it’s already made some big waves. All of the biggest acts make an effort to play here, so what are you waiting for? Check out a show at the JLC during your upcoming trip to the Forest City.

A New London Landmark

The John Labatt Centre was built to replace the 40 year old London Ice House back in October of 2002. It is now used primarily as the home of the London Knights OHL hockey team. But that’s not all the arena is used for. Customers of London’s Big and Tall clothing store will also find the JLC equipped to host national-level events. Past events have included the 2005 Canadian Figure Skating Championships and the 2006 Scott Tournament of Hearts. Customers of London’s Big and Tall clothing store can also take their kids to the JLC for a number of fun family events. Past family programs have included the Harlem Globetrotters, Monster Jam and a number of Stars on Ice presentations.

Fill ‘er to Capacity

Customers of London’s Big and Tall Clothing Store will be pleasantly surprised by how large the JLC actually is. Approximate capacities are quoted at 9,100 for hockey games; 10,200 for centre stage concerts and 8,200 to 9,000 for end stage concerts. In addition to standard stage configurations, the John Labatt Centre can also be set up to accommodate touring Broadway shows. Customers of London’s Big and Tall clothing store will also find 38 luxury boxes inside the facility, along with more than 1,000 club seats.

Big Name Bands are Always Playing the JLC

A number of high profile concerts have taken place at the John Labatt Centre over the past few years, providing customers of London’s Big and Tall Clothing store with tons of great music. High-profile rock concerts have included Rush, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Nickelback, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and The Tragically Hip. Guns N’ Roses has even made an appearance at the John Labatt Centre, along with Elton John, Bob Dylan and numerous other rock legends.
