Big and Tall Hockey Dads: Dressing Dad for the Rink

In Canada, there really are only two seasons, hockey season, and everything else. Here in London and across the country, the puck has already dropped for try-outs, teams are being picked, and the season is underway. Dads – they're playing your song. That beloved song of early morning practices, long boring drives, the sound of skate sharpeners and pucks clanging off posts, and most importantly, cold arenas. Luckily, big and tall is prepared, and has a selection of big and tall coats, jackets, socks, and gloves to get your ready for hockey season as well.

Fight the Cold With a Big and Tall Coat

Sitting in an arena for hours on end can leave you cold, grumpy, and tired. We understand that an arena isn't a forty below blizzard, but you will need a warm big and tall coat. If you know the area you'll be in is relatively warm, or that you can watch from an enclosed lobby, perhaps all you'll need is one of our big and tall fall jackets. For those of you who need to get ready for a back yard rink or you just prefer to keep a little warmer, our big and tall winter jackets, from designers like Copper Cover, Perry Ellis, Oxide, and Cutter & Buck will kick up the heat a notch or two.

Keep the Ice on the Rink, Not on Your Hands

If you're like most big and tall hockey dads, you'll be picking up pucks, carrying sticks and bags, and wiping snow and ice off skates and equipment. That doesn't mean however, that you need to freeze your fingers off in the process. Every hockey loving dad needs a good pair of big and tall gloves to fight the cold and save their hands. Just because you're a big and tall man, doesn't mean you need to act like the cold doesn't affect you. Put on a pair of our leather or suede big and tall gloves and you'll be one step closer to beating the arena blues.

Warm Up From Top to "Bottom"

It's the worst part of sitting in an arena. We're not talking about the long hours, the disappointed child after a loss, or the cost of a hot coffee. The ice cold, rock solid benches are enough to keep you standing. It doesn't have to be that way however; just throw on a pair of our Big and Tall Winter Underwear. A good pair of big and tall long underwear is a must have for every hockey dad. That way you'll stay warm from top to "bottom"... pun intended.

Don't get us wrong, at Big and Tall London's Menswear we love hockey season as much as everyone else in Canada. We just don't love the cold arena's that come with our winter pastime. The next time you're in London for hockey, dinner, or a night out at the JLC, stop in to London's Big and Tall Menswear and we'll help you get suited up for another exciting (and cold) hockey season.
